Meet Dr. Jeremy Bayer

Dr. Jeremy Bayer is originally from Jackson, Michigan. As an undergraduate, he attended the University of Michigan (Go Blue!) and also studied abroad at the University of Valencia, Spain.  After completing his Doctorate of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from the University Of Michigan School Of Dentistry, Dr. Bayer continued his education and gained highly valuable experience by completing a general practice residency at the University Of Tennessee School Of Medicine.

Continuing his journey south across the Blue Ridge Mountains, Dr. Bayer fell in love with the beautiful climate and warm people of Upstate SC! After working as an associate dentist in Spartanburg, Dr. Bayer was drawn to Simpsonville where he has found a permanent home. In 2007, Dr. Bayer fulfilled his lifelong dream of opening his own patient-centered dental practice, which you know as Cedar Bluff Family and Cosmetic Dentistry!

Dr. Bayer truly loves what he does, and finds no greater reward than seeing a patient’s confidence improve by achieving a beautiful, functional smile. Having been practicing dentistry since 2005, Dr. Bayer is committed to constantly expanding his dental knowledge by regularly attending continuing education courses at world-renowned educational centers and investing in cutting edge technology to improve your experience and outcome. To give you an idea, the required amount of continuing education for a dentist in SC is 12 hours per year.  Dr. Bayer takes anywhere from 80-100 hours per year!

Dr. Bayer is particularly excited and passionate about his journey in Continuing Education learning about treating Obstructive Sleep Apnea in both adults and children. After being diagnosed with Obstructive Sleep Apnea himself and successfully treated with oral appliance therapy, Dr. Bayer became committed to educating patients and healthcare providers about the life changing outcomes that oral appliance therapy can provide for individuals with mild to moderate Obstructive Sleep Apnea, or those that are CPAP intolerant. Dr. Bayer's journey with Sleep Apnea continued when he noticed signs of Obstructive Sleep Apnea in his oldest daughter (then 7 years old).  Knowing the consequences of leaving a restricted airway untreated, he began looking for solutions which is when Dr. Bayer became involved with Healthy Start. As a certified Healthy Start provider, Dr. Bayer treats sleep related breathing conditions that often give rise to many childhood health and behavioral issues. Learn more about Healthy Start®.

Dr. Bayer is active in the community; having sponsored mouthguard clinics, high school and youth athletic teams and Children’s Dental Health visits to area schools.  Being a parent himself, Dr. Bayer is a strong supporter of all children having access to dental care and is very charitable with his time and resources. His family are members of Simpsonville United Methodist Church.

Dr. Bayer and his wife, Sarah, have three young daughters and one (mischievous) Goldendoodle.  Dr. Bayer is truly a family man and enjoys spending as much time as possible with his wife and daughters.  He is a huge University of Michigan Wolverine fan, a rec league soccer player and avid outdoorsman enjoying snowboarding, hiking and pretty much anything that involves fresh air!
